About the Instructor/Owner

Hi, Jennifer here! I’m so glad you stopped by my page. Stay awhile, and let’s get to know each other! As I mentioned, my name’s Jennifer, but please, call me Jenn – we can keep it casual. I was born right here in good ol’ Texas. I can say with pride that I fall under the stereotypical “Texas Woman Banner. I believe sweet tea is good for the soul, I believe the word “y’all” is grammatically correct, and I believe a horse is a girl’s best friend.

I first began working with horses at the age of twelve. I had summer jobs at boarding facilities, and my duties included cleaning stalls, tack, grooming, and exercising the horses. At sixteen years old, I started my first full-time position at Wagon Wheel Ranch in Coppell and Grapevine, Texas. I took English lessons from my friend, Kimberly Brunson, and I fell even more in love with the sport and the animals. At the Coppell Wagon Wheel Ranch, I gave both daytime and nighttime trail rides, company parties, and other events.

After a year of being at the facility, I began teaching Western and assisted with English lessons under Kim Brunson. We also facilitated Summer Kid Camps, Trained new horses, hosted trail rides, and showed for ten years.

I am currently taking lessons from Kim once a week to further my education on riding techniques. I believe it is important to collaborate with other instructors. It only feeds my passion – giving it space to grow for these loving animals.

I also have Horse Haven Rescue. We rescue horses that are abandoned, neglected, and sent to the kill pens. We take in horses that can be rehabilitated and adopted out to families that will enjoy them forever. Some of them will remain here where they become lesson and therapy horses. They deserve a second chance and if we are not able to provide that for them we find a Rescue/Sanctuary that can. Giving up is not an option.
